Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch, New Jersey

There is no reason why the incidence of major surgical complications in minimally invasive gynecology should not be even lower than that of open surgery.

This seminar is aimed at providing the knowledge and education that gynecologists need to be able to perform minimally invasive hysterectomy and my omectomy more safely. Physicians will learn how to avoid the complications of injury to surrounding vital organs, and when such injuries occur, how to
recognize and treat them.

Attendees will learn from groundbreaking experts in the field of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Topics include: Pre-operative evaluation, anatomy, surgical technique and use of technology. A panel discussion will be held, and sufficient time provided for questions and answers with the experts.

Program Objectives:
Physicians who attend this course will be able to:
1. Recognize the alternatives available to laparoscopic
hysterectomy/myomectomy, and discuss strategies for engaging
the patient in a risk/benefit analysis in order to determine the
appropriate mode of care.
2. Review the anatomy of the abdominal wall, and examine the
visible pelvis and the retroperitoneal space as it appears through
the laparoscope.
3. Identify the ureters, bladder, small and large intestine, and blood
vessels through laparoscope. Discuss the necessary steps to avoid
injury, recognize injury and demonstrate laparoscopic repair.
